music to start the (last) weekend

This is currently taking place at Opéra Royal de Wallonie, until 5/February. Also some great news: She is coming to the San Francisco to sing La Voix Humaine NEXT year (11/14/17 March 2017). I’d love it if she will also sing the comedy above. The music is great fun and the story full of light comedy. There are a ton of photos from these two productions on her facebook fan site, one of which am stealing to post below.

good idea pairing these two short pieces! you might actually get her singing both in SF too, considering she sang a 2 for here as well.

page 6, i think they only offer La Voix Humaine… but i love that they’re now engaging her “regularly”. if she’s flying to the US, hopefully there’d be recitals scattered across the US too. Oh, i just saw, she’s not doing it in the opera haus but at a much smaller setting “that celebrates the power of the human voice in intimate spaces beyond the Opera House”. I might camp at front row :D.

she probably liked the size of Wigmore Hall. Definitely her voice filled it just right, not too loud, not too soft and with nice “fill”, as is “enveloping”. I really enjoyed the feel of it.

(and i was just telling Stray last week if i lived in London i’d camp *at* Wigmore Hall 😀 , what’s so great is their super active program! covering a vast range (of my interest), pretty much all great singers/bands/musicians pass through there — i green envious..)

And soon to be video streaming, I gather, so next best thing to camping there 🙂

btw did you ever find the full audio of that 2011 ACA Capuleti from TCE? I just stumbled across it on the webz while looking for something else.

oh ja, i forgot about the streaming, yay!
ACA capuleti: yes! already listened many times, as well as downloaded and stored 🙂 . besides the “lightness” in heft, i enjoyed her phrasing a lot.. and the Giulietta was also quite good, but i remember there was something holding me back.. conducting was really nice, JEG doesn’t go wrong! it’s also nice he works with her a lot, starting w/ Cassandra in Chatelet that re-launched her career in unique direction in 2003, then that particular Carmen i remember quite liked (only small clips so far..), then this, as well as a few other things (you can tell i can provide quite an answer when it comes to VK/SM/ACA 😉 , am losing track of A.Harteros though…)

I’m sure you would 😉 I think it’s my most frequented venue, too. There’s always something good on and frequently sold out very quickly (like their entire holiday program this past December).

you have a fave pillow? too cute. I used to have one too (made by grandma) but I left it home in 2007 thinking I was too old for a little pillow 😉

Meanwhile, Carnegie announced today and it looks like we get another crack at Juditha with Venice Baroque, Alice Coote’s Winterreise, and a concert Ariodante with JDD

you’re tempting me.. is this at Carnegie or Wigmore? who cares about Nerone once you splash SM in front of me 😀 . could it be w/ Alessandrini? he’s got some tenor-Nerone fetish..

omg, did you see that cast?? allow me to capture the screen to daydream for a few moments…

(i knew it, Alessandrini and his obsession w/ tenor Nerone, but i will ignore that and day-dream about SM :D)

I am finding the Carnegie Hall website more infuriating by the minute, so I’m going to take a break and maybe wait for them to send me this on paper with actual information on it.

oh, stay calm on friday night 🙂 , we have probably a few months before fighting for tix? (oh, should i be in 3rd row dreamingly staring at Ottone? surely i must be somewhere breaking the bank for A.Hallenberg and the gang 🙂 )

Yeah, we have some time I reckon, and some NYC peeps who will want to be counted in, so we’ll let that simmer on a back burner for a while.
